Tau Game Lodge

Madikwe Game Reserve is currently the country's 4th largest game reserve. It is situated in the North West Province and is bordered by Botswana in the north, the spectacular Dwarsberg Mountains to the south, the Marico river to the east.

Breeding herds of elephant, white and black rhino, lion, cheetah, spotted and brown hyena, buffalo, leopard, zebra, the endangered wild dogs, giraffe and various antelope species are among the magnificent animals that roam the Reserve. Madikwe is also home to a bird population of over 250 different species.

Tau Game Lodge overlooks a vast natural waterhole, which attracts a variety of game. The lodge was designed to reflect the natural surroundings and makes use of the natural resources wherever possible.

The lodge has a comfortable lounge, bar and dining-room which overlook the waterhole. There is also a veranda next to the plunge pool, where delicious buffet breakfasts and lunches are sometimes served, and dinner is served in a cosy boma under the stars.

The decor and furnishings of the 30 rustic thatched chalets are African-inspired. All rooms are equipped with both air-conditioning and ceiling fans. Each chalet has its own wooden deck, and an en-suite bathroom with open-air shower.

The chalets are spread out in an U-formation on either side of the lodge, offering excellent views of animals approaching the water from the opposite bank. The corner units are linked by a communal outdoor lounge, making these ideal for 2 couples travelling together or for families.
