Royal Madikwe Safari Lodge

Royal Madikwe is a luxury lodge catering to discerning families and groups of friends, in the heart of the Madikwe Game Reserve. It is a thriving refuge for indigenous flora and fauna, with its diverse environment now home to more than 28 mammal species, 350 bird species and an interesting assortment of plans. Herds of buffalo and elephant, prides of lion, solitary rhino (black and white), illusive leopard and great antelope roam the reserve untroubled, whilst wildlife fanatics will delight in seeing more rare and unusual species, such as the brown hyena and aardvark.

Royal Madikwe welcomes families with children of all ages. A nanny is permanently on hand to supervise children and a number of fun activities are arranged to ensure the African experience is enjoyable for all the family. Face painting, African beading & jewellery making, bush baking, animal tracking and wildlife DVDs are just some of the activities and options available to younger guests. Family game drives can be designed to suit all interests and knowledgeable rangers will assess game sightings appropriate for the age and behaviour of each child individually. Children’s meal can be arranged separately if preferred and the nanny will be on hand with cookies and a bedtime story if parents would like to enjoy a romantic dinner a deux.
