Check-In and Check-Out Times

Rooms may be occupied from 2 pm on the day of arrival. If possible, aim to arrive at the lodge by this time, so you can relax and check into your room before going out on your first afternoon game drive, but if you don't think you can arrive by this time, you should aim to arrive by 3 pm at the very latest, or else you may miss the afternoon drive. Please be advised that ALL the gates into the reserve close at 8 pm.

Rooms must please be vacated by 11 am on the day of departure for the convenience of arriving guests.

Published Rates Include

All meals and morning / afternoon game drives are included. PLEASE NOTE: For self-drive visitors, the cash entrance fee of R150 per adult and R100 per child (subject to change) to enter the reserve is NOT included. For guests arriving and departing via FedAir, the landing / departure fees are also excluded and are payable directly to the lodge (rates on request).

Children Policy

Children of any age are welcome. Rates available on request. Children under the age of 6 years are not permitted on the standard game drives, but special children's drives are offered. Babysitting services are available.

Other Useful Information

Outdoor catering is a main part of life at Madikwe River Lodge, and, weather permitting, meals are usually served outdoors. Dinner is served in the Island Boma or in the lodge dining room, lunch is served on the main lodge deck, whilst breakfast is served in the dining room or outdoor deck. The summer months allow for the added experience of bush dinners, which can be arranged on request.

Regrettably, children under the age of 8 years are not permitted at all outdoor dining venues, however provision is made for children's meals in the main dining room.
