Jock Safari Lodge is one of the very first privately owned camps situated in the world famous Kruger National Park, with exclusive traversing rights over 6,000 hectares of private concession in what is regarded as the best Big 5 game viewing area.

Daily guided game drives and walks led by professional rangers offer exciting close encounters with Africa's wildlife, including lion, leopard, rhino, buffalo and elephant. Some of the drives will be on the lodge's own concession, but others may be in the Kruger Park itself, where your ranger will be restricted to remaining on the road network at all times.

Guests are offered African cuisine which incorporates an abundance of flavours. The head chef and his team conjure up dishes of legendary proportions, allowing your taste buds to follow their own African journey.

The cuisine is presented in a variety of locations, from silver service in the elegant dining room, to an eating adventure under the panorama of the African night.

There is also a fully equipped spa, with therapy rooms, hydrotherapy bath, a steam room and a sauna.

Twelve luxury air-conditioned suites offer guests the unique opportunity to experience the gracious style of old world elegance surrounded by unspoilt wilderness.

Each suite has a private sala (outdoor lounge) that overlooks the river. The romantic bathrooms and outdoor showers share the same river view and sightings of animals can be seen from the comfort and privacy of your own room. Your private terrace has its own plunge pool and a wooden walkway to a lapa overlooking the riverbed.

Price Guide: From ZAR3960 ( approx U$ 532 ) per person. Special Offers may apply - prices on request.

All meals, tea / coffee and local alcholic beverages (excluding imported wines and spirits), 2 safaris per day in open Land Rovers, tourism marketing levy and daily walking safaris - these are only subject to availability as the lodge only has one walking guide - are included. PLEASE NOTE: The Kruger National Park Daily Conservation Fee is NOT included - this is currently R48 per person per stay PLUS a one-off vehicle entrance fee of R48 for self-drive visitors (all rates subject to change).

Children of any age are welcome. Rates available on request. Children under 6 years are not allowed on game drives. Babysitting services are available.

"On behalf of the rest of the family, I would like to thank you for all your help - our holiday worked out brilliantly and your advice was spot on!

Leaving the Jock Safari Lodge was so difficult - we had a terrific guide, Patrick, who didn't just find the big five plus an enormous number of other species, but imparted a load of knowledge. All the accommodation choices were excellent but Jock and The Franschhoek made us particularly welcome. We have eated way too well and the kids expect 5 star luxury back home - no chance!

We all appreciated the contrasts to be found in South Africa and learnt a lot. If anyone we know shows an interest after we have bored them with our tales/photos/views, we will certainly recommend your company.
