Getting There

For visitors going to the Bazaruto Archipelago, you will need to fly into Vilanculos.

There are direct flights to Vilanculos (airport code VNX) with FedAir (formerly trading as Pelican Air Services) from both the O.R. Tambo International Airport, Johannesburg (airport code JNB)  OR from the Nelspruit / Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport (airport code MQP) - which is ideal if you want to combine a Kruger safari with a beach stay !

Flights go daily from O.R Tambo, and on Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturdays only from the Nelspruit / Kruger Mpumalanga.

If you are planning on flying from Kruger, it would be advisable to spend the night before you fly in or near Hazyview, rather than trying to come straight from a safari lodge that morning.

For any other lodges in the southern part of Mozambique, visitors would need to fly to Maputo or Inhambane.

For visitors going to the northern part of the country, including Pemba and the Quirimbas Archipelago, SA Airlink operates a direct flight schedule to Pemba (airport code POL) from O.R Tambo International Airport on a Wednesday or Saturday, or LAM - Mozambique Airlines also offers flights to Pemba from Johannesburg.

Wherever you fly into, Travel Butlers can arrange a transfer to your beach resort, which in most cases will be by boat or light aircraft.
