For visitors going to the southern part of Mozamique and the Bazaruto Archipelago, there are direct flights to Vilanculos via Pelican Air Services, who are the only licensed air carrier to fly scheduled flights direct from O.R. Tambo International Airport (Johannesburg - airport code JNB) and the Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport (airport code JNB) to Vilanculos International Airport (airport code VNX).
Flights go daily from O.R Tambo, and on Tuesdays and Fridays only from the Kruger Mpumalanga. If you are planning on flying from Kruger, it would be advisable to spend the night before you fly in or near Hazyview, rather than trying to come straight from a safari lodge that morning.
For visitors going to the northern part of the country, including Pemba and the Quirimbas Archipelago, SA Airlink operates a daily flight schedule directly to Pemba (airport code POL) from O.R Tambo International Airport, or LAM - Mozambique Airlines also offers daily flights to Pemba from Johannesburg.
Wherever you fly into, Travel Butlers can arrange a transfer to your beach resort, which in most cases will be by boat or light aircraft.
