Located near the most southern part of Chief's Island, Moremi Crossing is situated on a small palm fringed and treed island called Ntswi which is surrounded by the Moremi's game-rich seasonal floodplains.
Moremi Crossing is a short scenic 20 minute flight from Maun. As you fly over the Delta you can see the intricate twisting and turning of the waterways and the ever-changing colours where dry land meets Delta.
Time slows down at Moremi Crossing as here guests have the chance to experience the Okavango Delta and its game from a very different slower and closer perspective: whilst on foot or silently being poled by mokoro through the Delta's waterways whilst in search of game.
Game walks are conducted on Chief's Island where you may come across numerous animal species not to mention a wide selection of birds and insects. Game which has been spotted on walks has been lion, leopard, wild dog, elephant, giraffe, zebra, buffalo, red lechwe and many more. On the mokoros you may get to see the water birds like African jacanas, African fish eagles and if you look carefully you will see the Malakite kingfishers darting between the reeds.
The luxury accommodation is in 16 large and airy en-suite meru safari tents, each with its own private wooden deck and magical views over the Boro River on to Chief's Island.
The main guest areas are home to a large open plan deck that has spectacular far reaching views over the Boro River onto Chief's Island. This half moon shaped area is built on different levels to give you the feeling of space. The dining room, bar and lounge are covered by a large thatched roof that hugs the ancient riverine tree line and accentuates its most beautiful assets.
Various small private lounge areas are created for comfort, privacy and spaciousness. Within the tree line you will find a nice shaded decked area that leads to the pool.
All meals, snacks, tea/coffee, beverages, laundry service, all shared game viewing activities (mokoro excursions, sunset cruises, game walks and fishing) and Park fees are included.
Children aged 8 years and older are welcome. Children aged between 8 years and 12 years are not allowed on mokoro excursions or game walks.
All of the holidays we prepare are tailor-made, but this might give you an idea of how Moremi Crossing can be included in you own dream holiday.
