Guest Information for Thula Thula Luxury Safari Lodge.

Check-In and Check-Out Times

Rooms may be occupied from 12 midday on the day of arrival, and must please be vacated by 11 am on the day of departure for the convenience of arriving guests.

Published Rates Include

2 safaris (game drives) daily or a guided bush walk, full breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea with fresh bakes and dinner are included.

The rate excludes your personal bar account, sundowner drinks, telephone, curios and child minding, any road or air transfers to and from the lodge, all airport taxes and applicable entrance fees.

Children Policy

Children aged 8 years and older are welcome. Rates available on request.

Other Useful Information

The following attractions and activities are available on request and are payable directly to the lodge during your stay with them. Rates quoted are current (2007) but are subject to change.

· Massage therapy: From R280 to R350 per massage.

· Visit of a Zulu village: R180 per person. An authentic experience of Zulu rural culture and traditions, with an encounter with the Inyanga, the medicine man, who will display for you a selection of herbal medicines.

· Hluhluwe / Umfolozi Game reserve (Cengeni Gate) : R1,140 for a half day guided trip; R1,320 for a full day guided trip, or guests can drive themselves and pay the R100 entrance fee (subject to change). Situated only 45 minutes from Thula Thula, this National game reserve was created in 1895 and is home to the Big Five.

· St. Lucia Estuary boat cruises: R1,140 for a half day guided trip; R1,296 for a full day guided trip, or guests can drive themselves and book their own boat tickets (approximately R100 per person). An ideal way to view hippos, crocodiles and magnificent bird life (1 hour from Thula Thula).

· Whale watching (From June to October) in St. Lucia (1 hour from Thula Thula) - guests to drive themselves. The lodge will advise on times and where to go.

· 18 Hole Golf Course in Empangeni, Richardsbay or Zimbali - guests to drive themselves. The lodge will make the bookings if required.

· Anglo-Zulu Battlefields: Isandlwana, Rorkes Drift (2.30 hours from Thula Thula) - guests to drive themselves.
