From Johannesburg by Road

It is at least a 5 hour drive to the Orpen Gate into the Park, and then of course you will have to allow time to drive through the Park to get to your camp. If you would like a quote for a hire car, please do let us know and we will be happy to arrange this for you.

Scheduled Flight from Johannesburg

There are daily flights run by South African Airlines from Johannesburg International Airport (or the O.R. Tambo as it is now known as) to the Hoedspruit Airport, where you can then pick up a hire car from the airport and drive into Kruger. The flight takes about an hour. The journey time then from the airport to the Orpen Gate would be about 30 minutes.

Scheduled Flight from Cape Town

There is one direct flight between Cape Town and Hoedspruit on a Tuesday and a Thursday (and from 2nd October 2011, a Sunday flight too), which takes about 2 hours 40 minutes, otherwise you would have to take a flight to Johannesburg (2 hours), and connect onto another flight to Hoedspruit. Total travelling time then would be between 4 - 5 hours, depending on connections.
