Rosedene is a Cape Town guest house in City Bowl was originally part of a 19th century rose farm on the slopes of Table Mountain. The main house has been through many changes over the years until it became a guest house. With it's informal home-away-from-home feel, and friendly and informative staff to help visitors make the most of their stay in Cape Town, this is a very popular choice for visitors to the Mother City. The V&A Waterfront is a short 10 minute drive away, whilst trendy Kloof Street with all its epicurean delights is just a stone's throw away. The world renowned beaches of Camps Bay and Clifton are quickly and easily accessible and Table Mountain is merely a hop, skip and a jump!

The accommodation consists of 11 tastefully-appointed en-suite bedrooms, as well as 4 Heritage Cottages, which are ideal for families. The cottages each have 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, and a living room, a fully fitted kitchen and a veranda - making these ideal for families.

The courtyard and garden setting creates a tranquil 'village like' feel to the guest house even though it is located in the centre of the city. The covered verandas (stoeps), decks and courtyard have magnificent views of Table Mountain, Lions Head, Signal hill, the City and Table Bay. There is also a plunge pool. Breakfast is served daily either in the cosy dining room on or the extended stoep with spectacular views of Table Mountain.

Directions For Drivers

From Cape Town International Airport: Follow Airport Exit signage then pick up on the Cape Town signs as you leave the Airport area. Join the N2 double lane motorway heading for Cape Town. The N2 motorway turns sharply left - follow the left curve and N2 City then bear right following the City N2 signage then move to far left-hand lane.

Follow the signs for City via Philip Kgosana Drive, and keep in the left lane. Just before the overhead pass, turn left at the M3 Mill Street sign. Go past the Garden Centre Mall on your left-hand side, and at the traffic lights move into the far left-hand lane (DON'T bear right with this road) and continue into Mill Street, going past the Holiday Inn on the left to the Stop sign at the T-junction.

Turn left at the Stop sign into Upper Orange Street then turn at the first road right into Camp Street (at the Cable Way sign). Turn left at first traffic lights into Hof Street. Go past the Cape Town Medi-Clinic on the left, and follow the road round, bearing sharp to the right (Bacini's Pizzeria will be on the left corner, Amigo's Restaurant across the road), then turn left at the Stop sign into Kloof Street.

The road will fork into 3, turn right into the middle road (a cul-de-sac) which is Upper Kloof Street and follow the Rosedene Guest House signage. Keep right and go carefully over the speed bump. Rosedene is the 3rd last house on right-hand side. Guest parking is on your right-hand side.

From Cape Town City Centre : Drive up Long Street towards Table Mountain (Long Street is only one way). Go across the traffic lights at the top of Long Street into Kloof Street. Continue for about 2 km up this road past lots of restaurants (Cafe Paradiso etc) and shops.

At the top of this road (past 7/Eleven shop) you will see Bacini's Pizzeria on the left corner and Amigo's Restaurant on the opposite side. The road forks into 3.

Turn into the middle road (cul-de-sac) which is Upper Kloof Street and follow the Rosedene Guest House sign (brown sign). Keep right and go carefully over the speed bump. Rosedene is the 3rd last house on right-hand side. Guest parking is on your right-hand side.



General Information For Guests

All rooms have air conditioning, a safe, mini bar, hair dryer, telephone, personal security button, a kettle and a TV. Fibre internet is available in every room too.

The accommodation is made up of 10 rooms in the main house, a detached suite over looking the plunge pool and 4 two-bedroom cottages.

Breakfast includes a full English and Continental style offering.

The V&A Waterfront is a 10 minute drive away.
