From Johannesburg by Road
It is at least a 6 hour drive to the Punda Maria Gate into the Park, and then of course you will have to allow time to drive through the Park to get to your camp. If you would like a quote for a hire car, please do let us know and we will be happy to arrange this for you. Alternatively you can book directly with Avis in South Africa.Scheduled Flight from Johannesburg
There are daily flights run by South African Airlines from the Johannesburg International Airport (or the O.R. Tambo as it is now known as) to the Phalaborwa Airport, where you can then pick up a hire car from the airport and drive into Kruger. The flight takes just over an hour, and prices start from approximately R1,200 per person one way, but please note that flight prices are dependent on the day and time you travel. The journey time then from the airport to the Punda Maria Gate would be about 3 hours by road - or anything up to 8 hours if you drove into the Park via the Phalaborwa Gates and then drove north through the Park to your camp. From Cape Town
There are unfortunately no flights that go direct from Cape Town to Phalaborwa, so you would have to take a flight to Johannesburg, and and connect onto another flight to Phalaborwa. Total travelling time is between 4 - 6 hours, depending on connections, and prices start from approximately R2,400 per person one way.
