Damaraland Camp
Damaraland Camp is a rare venture which integrates communities, the environment and wildlife on a sustainable basis, and is rated as one of the most successful eco-tourism ventures in Namibia.
Located on the north bank of the Huab River Valley, 90 km inland from the Skeleton Coast, the camp presents endless vistas across stark plains, ancient valleys and soaring peaks, with the Brandberg Mountain providing a focal point almost 100 km to the south. The star-gazing at night is superb, because of the crystal-clear skies.
Guests can also enjoy guided nature walks, where gemsbok, springbok and kudu are often sighted, as well as many birds.
Lion and cheetah also move in and out of the area occasionally, and black rhino can be found to the north of the camp.
The main area comprises of a lounge and bar area, and a dining area with a 'family' style table where all meals are served. An open campfire and outdoor dining 'boma' area are enjoyed during calm evenings.
Another feature is the natural rock swimming pool.
FI Basis: All meals, drinks on game drives, local drinks (including house wine, soft drinks and juice, mineral water, local beers, and some spirits) and activities are included.
