The Bazaruto Archipelago is one of the most beautiful places on the African continent, complete with azure waters, sandy beaches, palm trees, and pristine coral reefs with tropical fish. Declared a National Park in 1971, the archipelago boasts among its wildlife 180 species of birds, endemic butterflies, Suni antelope and freshwater crocodile. The protected reefs and beaches support dolphin, dugong, game fish, giant lobster and several species of marine turtle.

Benguerra Island is one of the most beautiful islands in the archipelago and is washed by the turquoise waters of the warm Mozambique channel. This is barefoot luxury at its very best.

Benguerra Island is a paradise for snorkellers and scuba divers. The lodge has a fully equipped PADI dive centre and access to some of the most pristine reefs in the world. There is also excellent saltwater fly and deep sea fishing to be had.
