Your safari experience begins at Siwandu, which lies sheltered in a grove of palms on the shores of Lake Nzerakera and is perfectly situated to experience fully the breathtaking landscape and abundant wildlife of Selous Game Reserve. Your spacious octagonal tents of canvas and topped in thatch enables guests to observe the animals as they saunter past. For an intimate, uninterrupted bush experience, Siwandu is perfect for forgetting all the troubles of the modern world and immersing oneself in unspoilt nature with just the right amount of bush luxury.
Selous has over 2,100 species of plants, in excess of 400 varieties of birds, more than half of Tanzania's elephant population and over 120,000 buffalos. The Reserve's 40,000 hippo and 4,000 lion are probably the largest populations on the continent, not to mention the fact that it is home to the planet's largest population of rare wild dogs. This resplendence gives guests a rare opportunity to glimpse all of these animals in truly unspoilt landscape.
You then head for 7 nights to Ras Kutani, which rests between the deserted shores of the Indian Ocean and the quiet inlets of a freshwater lagoon, creating an idyllic barefoot hideaway. The soul of Ras Kutani emanates from the never-ending stretches of creamy white sand, broken only by footprints and the lapping of the cool blue waves. This sought-after beach solitude is the foundation of pure relaxation and offers a stark contrast to some of the busier coastal resorts. Complementing the sound of the surf is the oasis of calm surrounding the lagoon, providing an ideal environment for stunning water birds. Enhancing this watery setting is a lush backdrop of virgin coastal forest.

You will be met at the airstrip by your camp vehicle and transferred to your camp. Siwandu is perfectly situated to fully experience the breathtaking landscape and abundant wildlife of Selous Game Reserve. Selous Game Reserve
After breakfast, you will be transferred back to the airstrip.

You will be met from your flight and assisted to meet up with your transfer driver.
You will then be driven by road to Ras Kutani (approximately 25 km/90 minutes depending on traffic).
Ras Kutani offers just 9 beach cottages, all with ocean views and gentle breezes. Under the thatch, a spacious veranda unfurls with comfortable kikoi seating and dream-inducing hammocks. The main emphasis at Ras Kutani is pure relaxation - after an adventurous safari circuit, kick back and ease into the barefoot luxury of this beach retreat. Kayaks and boogie boards are available for guests seeking more physical exercise, and the calm fresh water lagoon is the perfect place to paddle and delve further into the riverine forest, or have fun in the surf.
