It offers easy access to Fish Hoek, Simons Town, Boulders Beach and Cape Point, and there are many walking and hiking trails up the magnificent mountains that tower over the retreat.
One of the unique features of The St James is that it is completely protected from the prevailing summer winds and is also one of the best view points for watching the many whales that now proliferate in False Bay.
The cosmopolitan harbourside village of Kalk Bay attracts locals and visitors all year round.
Fresh fish can be brought from the local fisherman and the habour itself offers a number of excellent seafood restaurants from rustic local cuisine to fine dining experiences.
Kalk Bay Main Road is a hive of novel antique and boutique style shops, delis and art galleries, all within a 5 minute walk from The St. James.
The St James is a grand and spacious Tudor style home, built and owned by mining magnates. It is over 100 years old, with wood paneling throughout that originated from an old shipwreck. There are 5 rooms - 2 suites and 3 superior double rooms, all of which are en-suite. The suites are sea facing with fabulous views across to Betty's Bay and Hangklip.
There is a large swimming with surrounding tanning deck for those that wish to lap up the sun, relax and unwind.
