Shamwari Game Reserve

Long Lee Manor Location Map

Long Lee Manor, originally built in 1910, is a reminder of an era of gracious living. Overlooking the sweeping plains leading down to the Bushmans River, this splendidly restored Edwardian manor house in the 25,000 hectare malaria-free Shamwari Private Game Reserve offers guests refined comfort, congenial service and enticing cuisine in the African bush.

The reserve is home to the Big 5 as well as cheetah, hyena, giraffe, hippo, zebra and numerous antelope species, offering an unforgettable safari experience. Game viewing is carried out morning and evening on game drives, when you are driven in your open vehicle over the rolling hills and valleys in search of the wildlife. The experienced rangers are all in 2-way communication with each other at all times, so on any day they know where the game is and how to find the elusive animals such as the rare black rhino.

Shamwari has received numerous international awards, including the World's Leading Conservation Company and Game Reserve.

Long Lee features 17 rooms in total, including Manor House Suites, Garden Rooms and Plains Rooms. In addition, there is also a Family Suite with 2 bedrooms, a living room and private plunge pool sleeping a maximum of 4 adults and 2 children. The original Manor House has been lovingly restored to pay homage to the area’s rich heritage, adding a bit of romance to any stay in one of the suites here.

The main guest areas include a large rim-flow swimming pool with a pool-side bar and a lovely dining room with both in and outdoor seating. In addition, there is also a spa and fitness centre.

Sumptuously prepared meals are enjoyed in the main dining room or around the open blazing fire at the boma overlooking a waterhole.

Start TestimonialShamwari Game Reserve: Long Lee Manor. The best! What an experience! Maybe 2 nights would have been enough as we had seen the Big 5 on our first 4 game drives.
