Governors' Private Camp

Governors' Private Camp

Masai Mara

Governors' Private Camp Location Map

Governors’ Private Camp is located on a bend of the impressive Mara River, home to many beautiful bird species from rare trogans and turacos to nesting hornbills. Below the camp, hippos laze in the shallow waters and elephant herds come to drink, whilst their calves take a playful dip to cool off in the heat of the day.

With your highly trained and experienced guide, head out on a game drive into the famous Masai Mara Game Reserve. The guides have a deep understanding and respect for this precious wilderness area, and their knowledge of the Reserve is unsurpassed.

Walking safaris can also be arranged. Leave your vehicle and experience the true thrill of the bush. Departing in the early morning, and taking place in a private concession area adjacent to the Mara, you will track game, unsure what waits round the next corner, from giraffe, buffalo, hyena, zebra or even lion. Take in the sights and sounds of this wild region.

For an additional charge, why not enjoy a bird’s eye view of the plains on a hot air balloon? Suspended in a basket as the sun rises over the rainbow-coloured canopy, you’re in for a wildlife viewing adventure with an entirely different perspective.

Private Camp is an excellent option for families or groups wanting to enjoy an exclusive safari experience, as the name suggests, in private.

The camp has only 8 tents to ensure peace and privacy. Each of the luxurious tents is positioned on wooden platforms with extended verandahs and en-suite bathrooms, offering guests the traditional safari experience of times gone by.

If booked on an exclusive basis the minimum requirements are 4 guests to book the Private Camp for a minimum of 3 nights.
