Derwent House is one of Cape Town's most inviting boutique hotels. It combines chic contemporary elegance with a fun and relaxing atmosphere. It is also incredibly well located just off the trendiest street in the City in between the City Centre and Table Mountain. With a total of 10 rooms and one apartment the atmosphere is friendly without being intrusive, and the staff team are dedicated to making your stay a success.

The apartment is open plan and spacious, with a double bed, a double sofa bed, a fully equipped kitchen, and a bathroom with bath and shower.  Breakfast is not provided in the apartment but there are 4 or 5 places nearby that do great breakfasts.  If you book the apartment you are a guest of Derwent House and as such you are welcome to use the pool, honesty bar, guest laptop and help yourself to complimentary tea, coffee and cake throughout the day as well as being able to access their full reception facilities and services.

 

As well as the apartment, Derwent House has 10 rooms.  

The 4 'Beautiful' type rooms are upstairs in the main house and have views and/or a private terrace.  The 5 'Fabulous' rooms are a more compact option, with 4 of the 5 overlooking or opening onto the pool area, whilst the the more private 5th room is in the rear wing with a private deck area. 

There is also a family suite, which has a separate bedroom, and an open plan lounge/kitchen/dining area with a double sofa bed, as well as a private terrace with views.

Directions For Drivers

From the airport take the N2 in the direction of Cape Town - you’ll be heading towards Table Mountain. When you are close to the mountain, the road merges into five lanes. Stay in one of the three lanes to the right hand side, following the blue signs for N2 Eastern Boulevard. As you come over the brow of the hill you will catch sight of the harbour and Table Bay – beautiful!

Follow signs for CTICC and the V&A Waterfront onto the flyover. The harbour is now on your right, and the city on your left, with Lion’s Head and Signal Hill in the distance.: Stay in one of the middle lanes as you come down the hill and approach the traffic lights. Go straight over at the lights, following signs for M62 Cable Way and Camps Bay.: Get into the middle lane and go through the next 4 sets of lights passing the Harley Davidson shop and the Shell garage on your left.

You’ll see a Caltex garage on your left. Go through the set of lights directly after the Caltex garage. go down the hill and then up the hill again.

There is another set of lights at a junction with shops and bars on it – go straight through these lights. Pass the Chocolate House on your left.

There is Kamp Street on your left and then De Lorenz Street on your left – Derwent Road is the next road on your left just after the crossing.

Turn left and Derwent House is halfway down the street on the left – Number 14.
