Asanja Grumeti Camp

Asanja Grumeti is a luxury tented camp in the Serengeti's Western Corridor region. The camp is hidden amongst the open woodlands of the Nyasirori plains, and is only minutes away from the Grumeti River. This location is perfect to offer guests prime game viewing of the migration when they pass through the area usually in June/July time. Thousands of wildebeest take a plunge across the river, which is well known for its population of hippos and gigantic Nile crocodiles.

Asanja Grumeti is located by a marsh and as such, it stays green throughout the year.  The bush and grasslands around the camp attracts birds and animals, even in the driest months.

Due to the good concentration of wildlife found here, including a resident lion pride, the game drives here are varied and exciting. Guests can also take the opportunity to appreciate the smaller things that often go unseen by going on a walking safari, in the company of an experienced and informative guide - or even head to the skies in a hot air balloon to see the game from a completely different perspective.

At the end of each day, re-live your adventures and experiences with your fellow campers around the campfire.

With only 3 guest tents, Asanja Grumeti offers complete exclusivity. The spacious tents are all en-suite with an outdoor shower, and a private verandah offers exceptional views of the surrounding area.

In addition there is also the exclusive sleep out experience. Set up for you in a remote location, settle down to a private dinner in the bush before spending the night under the stars, surrounded by the sounds of grazing wildebeest (must be pre-booked).

Rates Include

Children Policy

Children of any age are welcome. Rates available on request.

Bush Walks / Walking Safaris

Children under the age of 12 years are not permitted on walking safaris. The final decision on whether a guest can join a walking safari remains with the guide and camp manager.

General Information For Guests

Each tent has an en-suite bathroom with a free standing bathtub, flush WC and an outdoor shower. They also have a hairdryer (on request), in-room safe, private verandah, writing desk, gym-in-a-basket, battery charging facilities and bathrobes.

The camp has both indoor and outdoor dining spaces, a fire pit and an al fresco lounge area.

Complimentary Wi-Fi is provided in the main guest areas.

Morning and afternoon game drives are included.

Activities that are available at an additional cost include walking safaris, bush breakfasts, picnics and sundowners.

Hot air balloon safaris can also be arranged (additional cost).

In room massages are also available (additional cost and must be pre-booked).

The Asanja sleep out experiences must be booked in advance (additional cost).

A laundry service is included (game package only, full board an additional cost).
