It is here, on the outskirts of the town and hidden amongst one of Tanzania's largest coffee plantations, that you will find Arusha Coffee Lodge, a perfect overnight haven either before or after your African safari.

Reminiscent of traditional plantation houses, 30 wooden chalets are nestled amongst the surrounding gardens and coffee trees. The theme of coffee permeates throughout Arusha Coffee Lodge, reflected in the colours and textures throughout, and the friendly and personable staff help create an ambiance that draws appreciation from all those who visit and stay.

Within the main Plantation House there is an a la carte restaurant, an intimate bar and a cosy lounge, all of which have inviting open log fires that give the cool night air a comforting warmth and throw out a welcoming glow.

There is also a swimming pool and a garden terrace where lunch is served.

The 12 Plantation Suites are spacious and modern with homely touches, and are set among the coffee trees. The 12 Plantation Suites are spacious, modern yet homely retreats among the coffee trees. With a soothing rainfall shower and generous bathtub, a private outside terrace, log fire, a 32” TV with satellite service and attractive décor.

The 18 Plantation Rooms have log fires, en-suite bathrooms with a shower and bath, and a verandah overlooking the surrounding green coffee garden.

In addition, the rooms and suites all have hair dryers, a telephone, in-room safes and tea/coffee making facilities. Free Wi-Fi is available in all the rooms.

The lodge has vibrant gardens, a spa, swimming pool, curio shop, a collection of boutiques, and a restaurant and café bistro.

The restaurant is open Monday to Friday 06:30 to 09:30 for breakfast. Guests can choose between a full buffet breakfast (if available), or a continental breakfast. Alternatively you may order from the a la carte menu. Lunch is served from 13:00-14:30, and dinner is served from 20:00-21:30.

The bistro has both indoor and garden terrace seating, along with a bar, coffee station and pizza oven.

Activities that are available at an additional cost include tours of the coffee plantation, day trips to Arusha National Park and tours of Arusha Town.

On the path of an annual elephant migration, Tarangire Treetops sits alone in a private game reserve bordering the Tarangire National Park amid rolling, baobab-studded hills with views to Lake Manyara.

To get into the Tarangire National Park itself takes about an hour, however being located in a wildlife area adjacent to the park your game drive begins as soon you are in the vehicle.  Experienced rangers whose knowledge of the bush is legendary accompany all ventures.

The camp also offers a special trail for mountain biking.

The 20 en-suite tree houses are all equipped with an exotic double shower en-suite bathrooms and private verandas that have sweeping views over the surrounding bush. Each tree house is distinctively and lavishly furnished, with natural materials that are blended with contemporary African decor.

The Stable Cottage is the family cottage, located to the rear of the riding stables, separate from the main Manor House. In the mornings, breakfast can be served, if requested, in the adjacent courtyard. The Stable Cottage also has a small separate dining area, with a lounge and fireplace that can be used for intimate and private dinners and lunches.

Stable Cottage is divided into 2 floors. On the ground floor you will discover a richly-furnished Master Bedroom and a Twin Bedroom, each with their own individual bathrooms. Each bathroom boasts a luxurious Victorian bath, rain shower and a fireplace, the latter of which can be lit on request. On this same floor there is a beautifully appointed joint Family Lounge area which serves as a perfect place to gather and share stories of the day’s events and to plan the adventures to come.

Heading upstairs to the Stable Cottage's second level, you will find the children’s domain comprising of a Children’s Twin Room, a 'Toddlers Bathroom' and a satellite TV Playroom.

Other activities at The Manor for an additional charge include a one hour horse ride around the surrounding hills, mountain biking, coffee estate tours, and spa treatments.

Hidden among the rocky outcrops or kopjes of the vast, internationally renowned Serengeti Plains is the Serengeti Migration Camp, which exudes a decadence reminiscent of old Africa. The camp is located next to the famous Grumeti River which is home to resident hippos that bark and wallow their days away,

Although the camp has a colonial feel, it is also very open and rustic, and has managed to maintain a balance between being natural and in touch with its surroundings, whilst also having a very stylish edge.

The split level main guest lounge, cigar bar, restaurant, sundecks and swimming pool are perched among the outcrops and overlook the vast and rugged landscapes that are home to the world's greatest mammal migration.

The dining experience at Serengeti Migration Camp is on a separate deck overlooking the Ndasiata Hills and the Grumeti River. Dine under canvas or al-fresco under the brilliant African skies.

This area of the Serengeti is especially exciting to visit during the months of July and August, or possibly around November, when the great wildebeest migration is likely to be in the area.

The camp offers morning and an afternoon game drives, but you can also head out with a packed lunch for a full day safari as well, giving you the chance to explore further and deeper into the National Park.

Another great way to explore the stunning diversity of the Serengeti is on foot, where you will be accompanied by a professional walking Safari Guide who knowledge of local flora, fauna, culture and history is unmatched.

Richly furnished throughout, the 20 spacious and luxurious tents have been carefully placed to provide privacy and blend into the surrounding bushveld. Surrounded by a 360 degree veranda deck, each guest tent also overlooks the Grumeti River and its resident hippos.

Bush Walks / Walking Safaris

Each pavilion enjoys a spacious double suite with shuttered windows opening out onto a personal plunge pool flanked by sunbeds on a private verandah. Adjoined by a walk way, a luxurious bathroom boasts a refreshing rainfall shower.

All areas of the pavilion are designed to evoke the 'back-to- nature' feel, with wide windows and an open-faced design to capture the ocean breezes, and to let guests drink in the view.

The beds within the Pavilions have a 'Cool Air' air conditioning system which provides an oasis over and around the bed. The window spaces are fitted with traditional wooden shutters that allow the sea breeze to permeate throughout the room.

Tanzania has a large Muslim population on the island of Zanzibar. Modesty of dress is expected when outside the hotel's grounds. Trousers are entirely acceptable, but short skirts and bare arms should be avoided. Scarves must be worn over the head (and shoes removed) when entering a mosque.
