Lion Sands Confirm Cape Cadogan Offer for 2008

PaulCampbell - December 17, 2007

We are delighted to confirm that Lion Sands have announced that they will be repeating their special offer of 3 complimentary nights at the 5* Cape Cadogan in the heart of Cape Town for all guests who stay 3 nights at either River Lodge or Ivory Lodge between May and the end of August next year.

Combined with Travel Butlers low rates at Lion Sands, this amounts to a saving of over R8500 (approx £630) for guests staying at Ivory Lodge and Cape Cadogan or R5750 (approx £425) for guests choosing River Lodge and the Cape Cadogan.

The only restriction on this offer is that you must stay at both properties between 1 May and 31 August 2008, and both bookings should be made at the same time.

You can read more about this offer here.

Shamwari Win 2 Prestigious Awards

TraceyCampbell - December 13, 2007

For the 10th consecutive year, Shamwari Game Reserve in the Eastern Cape has been awarded the World’s Leading Safari and Game Reserve and the World’s Leading Conservation Company at the prestigious World Travel Awards gala ceremony.

On receiving the 2 awards the CEO, Adrian Gardiner said: “We are very proud to have been recognized as the best by our industry partners worldwide for 10 straight years. When we began, conservation was a small part of tourism. Today, we are very encouraged that more tourists are aware that we must sustain and preserve our environment for the generations to come. It is our firm commitment that tourism should benefit all people, not just the few.”

Revised Garden Route Pages on Travel Butlers Website

TraceyCampbell - December 12, 2007

We have just revamped the Garden Route section on our website, to hopefully make it more ‘user friendly’.

We now include more general information about what there is to see and do, including a comprehensive guide to family fun, golf courses and beaches, as well as the ability to search on accommodation in the major towns (Knysna, Plett, Wilderness, Tsitsikamma).

We have also included a short section on the scenic Route 62, which is the alternative way of driving to / from Cape Town to this popular tourist destination.

Rhino Walking Safaris In Kruger

PaulCampbell - December 11, 2007

Rhino Plains CampWe have recently updated the information for the Rhino Walking Safaris concession in the southern part of the Kruger Park (access via Paul Kruger Gate).

Rhino Post Safari Lodge offers fully inclusive rates including accommodation, meals, teas & coffees and game drives with optional safari walks also offered.

Rhino Plains Camp rates are fully inclusive of accommodation, meals, cold drinks, house wine and beers, teas & coffees and safari activities (primarily walking safaris).

The lodges are both in a very game rich part of the park, and most guests choose to split their stay between the two camps as this gives the best mixture of game drives from Rhino Post Camp (where you will get to see more of the reserve and have the chance to get closer to preditors which cannot be approched on foot) and walking safaris from Rhino Plains Camp (tracking Rhinos on foot is an unforgettable experience).
