Sabi Sands Game Reserve
Fully inclusive lodges
The Sabi Sand Wildtuin (more usually called the Sabi Sands Game Reserve is the most famous and well established of the private reserves which adjoin the western boundary of the Kruger National Park.
The 65,000 hectare reserve is home to some of the finest safari lodges in South Africa, and offers possibly the best game viewing opportunities to be found anywhere on the African continent - especially for the Big 5 (lion, leopard, elephant, rhino, and buffalo).
With no fences between the Sabi Game Reserve and Kruger, the animals are free to roam unhindered over in excess of 2 million hectares, and because the land is privately owned the guides and trackers are able to follow the animals off-road in order to get closer to the wildlife than is generally possible in Kruger itself.
The lodges all offer a fully inclusive rate, which generally includes all your meals, your accommodation, and morning and afternoon guided safari drives in open Land Rovers.
Many lodges also offer an optional morning bush walk with a guide as well, and some include all your drinks as well.
You can read more about what you can expect from a safari lodge here.
