The Zuurberg Mountain Village is situated just 18 km from the Addo Elephant National Park main gate. This gracious 150 year old hotel is a peaceful and truly unique mountain top retreat, set in 160 hectares of indigenous vegetation with breathtaking views overlooking the Addo Elephant National Park.

Hotel facilities include a swimming pool, tennis courts, pool table, game drives, hiking trails, bird watching and horse trails.

Zuurberg Mountain Inn also offers a great Children's Playground area including swings, slides, trampaline, rocking animals, see saw, and plenty more.

General Information For Guests

Leisure facilities include a swimming pool, tennis courts, kiddies playground area, and pool table.

Guided game drives into Addo, excursions to a neighbouring Big 5 game reserve, hiking trails, bird watching, horse trails and elephant back safaris can also be arranged - more details and rates on request.

Dining Rooms / Bars / Lounges::The Lounge is gracious and high-ceilinged, and is dominated by an immense stone fireplace with classic indiginous wooden furniture typical of the period. Aperitifs can be enjoyed around a logfire on cool winter evenings.

The Cycad, the hotel's main dining area, is enhanced by several features - a counter hand-crafted by the 1820 Settlers, fireplaces and French doors leading to the pool where alfresco dining may be enjoyed on balmy summer nights.

Woodifields Bar, named after the Engineer of the Zuurberg Pass, is one of the few remaining genuine English pubs in the country, where refreshments can be enjoyed in a relaxing atmosphere.

The Terrace menu is available for light snacks throughout the day.

South African specialities, fresh local produce and home-bakes are offered wherever possible, whilst special dietary requirements are catered for. There is also an extensive Wine List and Vintage Wine Cellar.
