This 6 bedroomed property offers B&B accommodation as well as exclusive use of the lodge on a self-catering basis for families or friends travelling together.

All the en-suite rooms have access to either a patio or balcony overlook the pool and indigenous garden. There is a spacious lounge and outdoor sitting area around the pool for guests to enjoy.

Children of any age are welcome up until end December 2018. From 01 January 2019, only children aged 12 years old and older can be accommodated.

Directions For Drivers

From Cape Town/Hermanus/The Winelands/Swellendam/Wilderness/Knysna: Follow the N2 to Plettenberg Bay until you see the Piesang Valley Road/Plettenberg Bay South/Suid turn-off into Plettenberg Bay, which also has an airport sign.  This turnoff  is approx 200m before the Marine Way roundabout on the N2.

Turn right down Piesang Valley Road until you get to a roundabout. Turn right, travel past the Kwick Spar and take the first road to the right into Longships Drive. After approx 1.5 km, turn left into Planier Road.  After approx 280m the road forks - take the left fork and Star Fish Guest Lodge is the first house on the right.

To get to Periwinkle Lodge to check in: Follow the directions as above. Once in Longships Drive, take the 2nd left into Roche Bonne Avenue and right at the T-junction into Beachy Head Drive. Follow the road for 1.5 km until you reach Periwinkle Lodge.

From Port Elizabeth: Take the N2 to Plettenberg Bay. Take the 3rd exit into Plettenberg Bay marked Piesang Valley Road/Plettenberg Bay South/Suid.  This turnoff  is approx 200m after the Marine Way roundabout on the N2. Follow the directions as above.

General Information For Guests

All rooms have tea/coffee making facilities, a telephone, under floor heating, heated towel rails, a safety deposit box, and a hair dryer. Each of the rooms have beach towels, beach chairs and sun umbrellas that can be taken to the beach.

Each room has a patio/balcony overlooking the indigenous garden and salt water swimming pool.

Emergency lighting is available in each room - fluorescent lights kick in immediately if the power goes off and there are free standing lanterns. The lodge is 100% off grid and fully equipped with solar panels, inverters and back-up generators, to ensure that loadshedding and power outages should not be an issue during your stay.

During July to September every year, Southern Right Whales migrate to this part of the Indian Ocean to calve. There are organised boat trips from Plettenberg Bay all year round to see Brydes whales and dolphins. Huge schools of dolphin surfing the breakers or leaping clear of the blue sea, are a regular sight throughout the year.
