Moorcroft Manor is optimally positioned directly on the main route to the Sani Pass which leads into the Kingdom of Lesotho. A tour up the Mighty Mountain can be arranged either via 4x4 or for a far more close encounter, a quad bike or rhino ride, with a guide. A visit to a Basotho village is a highlight of the trip as is lunch at the Highest Pub in Africa.

Guided hikes and walks can be arranged, as well as birding, horse riding, mountain biking, river tubing, wing-shooting, micro-lighting and trout fishing.

Moorcroft Manor offers 8 classically decorated rooms all with en-suite bathrooms. Choose from standard double rooms, a junior suite and 2 executive suites.

All the bathrooms have underfloor heating to keep away the midnight chill. The 2 executive suites are the epitome of luxury, furnished with antiques, free standing showers and thoughtful touches.

Directions For Drivers

From King Shaka Airport/N2: Head for the M65 and then take the N2 south. Come off onto the N3 towards Johannesburg.  Take the R617 to Underberg/Sani Road.  In Underberg, turn off towards Himeville.  Continue through Himeville and Moorcroft Manor is signposted off on the left hand side. 

General Information For Guests

Rooms and bathrooms have under-floor heating, wireless internet access, DSTV, ceiling fan, hair dryer, bath robes and tea/coffee making facilities. Each room also has its own adjoining private patio leading onto the lawns and the rock pool with an uninterrupted view towards Hodgsons Peaks and the sometimes snow-covered mountain tops of the Lesotho Kingdom.

Moorcroft Manor has an independently run spa and guests are advised to make appointments upon check in to avoid disappointment.
