There are 5 mountain-facing suites, decorated in English country style, each with a fireplace, arm chairs and private patio.

3 colonial African style suites and 2 luxury rooms are situated in the Manor House. Each has its own private veranda, overlooking the valley to the Klein Rivier mountains. The manor house has its own lounge, library and veranda.

There are also 2 interleading suites set in a separate part of the grounds.

Finally, the Blue Gum Villa is a luxury separate farmhouse, perfect for families or groups of friends travelling together. Sleeping up to 8 people, this unique accommodation has a private pool and gardens, and is fully equipped if guests wish to self-cater too.

Children of any age are welcome. Rates available on request. Children under 12 are not allowed in the dining room after 7 pm, but an early dinner and babysitting can be arranged.

Directions For Drivers

Blue Gum Country Estate is located 7 km off the R326 that runs between Stanford and Riviersonderend.

From Cape Town/Stellenbosch: Follow the N2 to George/Mossel Bay over 2 mountain passes (Sir Lowry's Pass and Houwhoek Pass). After the 2nd pass, turn right onto R43 to Kleinmond/Hermanus. You will pass suburbs called Hawston, Fisherhaven, Vermont, Onrus and Sandbaai.

Proceed through Hermanus, following the signs to Stanford/Gansbaai. As you approach the town of Stanford there is a 2 way stop. Turn left (onto the R326) past the Birkenhead Brewery, and proceed for 7 km, at which point you will see the turn-off to Blue Gum. Follow the signs on the gravel road until you arrive at Blue Gum.

From Franschhoek: Take the R45 towards Villiersdorp. Turn left and drive to Villersdorp, then take the R43 towards Botriver. (You will turn onto the N2 for a short while). Take the R43 in the direction of Hermanus. You will pass the Kleinmond turn and then the suburbs of Hawston, Fisherhaven, Vermont, Onrus and Sandbaai. Follow the directions as above.

From the Garden Route: Follow the N2 towards Cape Town. Approximately 10 km past the town of Riviersonderend, turn left onto the R326 towards Stanford. 7 km out of Stanford, you will see the turn-off to Blue Gum. Follow the signs on the gravel road until you arrive at Blue Gum.
