Klaserie Game Reserve

Baobab Ridge Location Map

Baobab Ridge is situated within the Klaserie Private Nature Reserve and offers guests an up-market, affordable wilderness safari experience. As a part of the Greater Kruger National Park, the Klaserie has unfenced borders with the Kruger National Park itself and is renowned for good game viewing.

The best time for game viewing is the early morning and late afternoons or evenings, when the hunters such as wild dog, lion and leopard are most active. Game drives are in open Land Rovers which can leave the road network to follow animals into the bush and provide opportunities to witness behaviour and interactions you might not see otherwise.

Night drives  are also exceptionally good opportunities to spot game not usually seen during the day.

Some of the game viewed are herds of buffalo, elephant, giraffe, wildebeest, impala, waterbuck, warthog, porcupine and much, much more. Lion, white lion, leopard, cheetah, wild dog and hyena complete the picture. Birding is quite spectacular, especially during spring and summer when the migrants breed.

This small and intimate private lodge with only 7 private suites gives guests a feeling of serenity, far away from the masses. The lodge can also be booked exclusively, giving guests the ultimate private luxury safari.

Family owned and run, this lodge gives guests a place they can call a home away from home in a private and very comfortable bush lodge setting. Situated within easy reach of the suites, the main lodge is equipped with a bar and lounge area, small TV room with satellite television and DVD, free Wi-Fi, outdoor terraces, guest bathrooms, a large dining room and an office. Outdoors there is a comfortable open-air boma area with a fireplace. The swimming pool overlooks the surrounding bush and a small waterhole.

As such, the rate for guests visiting the reserve now includes a Bed Levy, which goes towards ensuring that the reserve remains in pristine condition and helps to ensure the reduction of the camps carbon footprint, as well as a Conservation Levy which is used to subsidise anti-poaching efforts, further develop smart fences, pay additional teams, contribute to the cost of all counter poaching flights, and purchase new equipment to ensure the continual protection of vulnerable species with the reserve.
