Woodbury Tented Camp
Amakhala Game Reserve
Woodbury Tented Camp
Amakhala Game Reserve began in 1999 as a joint conservation venture and today has 6 independently owned lodges. All are owner managed by the descendants of the original families who arrived here with the British settlers of 1820.
Steeped in history and beauty, this 7,200 hectare game reserve is an ideal environment for an unforgettable Big 5 safari in a varied landscape, including breathtaking views of the Bushmans River.
After dark, the elusive nocturnal animals are searched out with the help of a spotlight as you drive through the reserve.
As part of one game drive during your stay, you can also enjoy a relaxing river cruise down the Bushmans River. Guided walks with one of the qualified rangers are also offered.
The centre of the camp is an airy, thatched entertainment area, where you can soak up the African sun. The tents are comfortably fitted out as bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms.
Amakhala Game Reserve also now offers a range of relaxing treatments by qualified beauty therapists, trained to pamper and soothe their clients - on request, guests can be taken over to the nearby Bush Lodge to enjoy their treatment.
Price Guide: From ZAR1455 per person. Special Offers may apply - prices on request.
All meals, selected drinks (excluding premium drinks) and 2 activities per day (game drives, river cruises, guided walks or night drives) are included.
Children of any age are welcome. Rates available on request. Children under 6 years are not allowed on game drives. Babysitting services are available.
