Tortilis Camp
Kitirua Private Conservancy, Amboseli National Park
Tortilis Camp
Tortilis Camp is named after the flat topped, umbrella thorn tree, the Acacia Tortilis, and is situated in an area of unspoilt woodland in a private concession right on the edge of the Amboseli National Park, which is best known for its unrivalled views of Kilimanjaro and the local elephant population - estimated to be over 2,000. The elephants are some of the largest in Africa, as they have been protected here for generations.
Guests staying here can enjoy game drives and sundowners both inside the Park, and within the private 30,000 acre game concession.
Guests can also go on walking safaris in the concession with local Masai guides, enabling them to not only learn about the bush but also be educated on the Masai culture.
Inbetween the safari actitivies, enjoy a treatment at the spa, relax around the pool and soak up the African sun, and watch elephant families forage for food just outside camp.
There is a main lounge, bar and dining area, all exquisitely built with natural materials and thatched roofs, again also with magnificent views of Kilimanjaro.
The friendly staff, drawn from the local Masai community, area all dedicated to making your stay truly memorable.
