The Elephant House
Addo, Addo Elephant National Park
The Elephant House
The Elephant House is literally only a 10 minutes drive to the world-famous Addo Elephant National Park, home to around 400 elephants, who roam freely among the 125,000 hectare reserve alongside black rhino, buffalo, kudu and red hartebeest, the extremely elusive and rarely seen leopard, and over 400 bird species.
Addo is one of the more scenic National Parks in South Africa, with rolling green hills covered in thick, lush vegetation, most of it evergreen, so it is attractive at whatever time you visit.
The elephants are very accustomed to the Land Rovers and may approach curiously, sniffing around with their trunks, giving you an incredibly close but safe encounter.
After your game drive, relax around the pool area or lose yourself in one of the deep comfy sofas which line the courtyards and verandas.
The chef serves lovely light poolside lunches and in the evenings, a memorable 3 course candlelit dinner is prepared with flair and personal attention.
