Situated in the Timbavati Game Reserve, Shindzela Tented Safari Camp offers a back-to-basics, affordable Kruger safari holiday, without compromising on important safari experiences such as the thrill of viewing African wildlife, marvelling at a beautiful sunset, or relaxing around the camp fire with a drink.

The main focus is on game drives in open 4x4 vehicles (day and night drives) as well as walking safaris.

The walking safaris are led by a professional, experienced safari guide who is armed, as well as a tracker.

Each safari guide takes a maximum of 8 guests on a walking trail, and your Kruger walking safari generally begins at dawn.

There is ample opportunity to stop along the trail to examine interesting features of the bush, to observe animals and learn more about the African bush, before returning to the camp mid morning to enjoy a hearty brunch.

Shindzela is a small wilderness camp, and hosts a maximum of 12 guests in canvas tents.

Each tent lodge has a wooden entrance door, adjustable canvas flaps for windows, and mesh to keep insects. All tents have a thatch roof and porch, designed to cool the tents in summer.

Tents are equipped with single beds, solar lighting, a private shower, handbasin and flush toilet.

All meals, tea / coffee and safari activities (game drives and/or walking activities) are included. PLEASE NOTE: All other drinks are NOT included. IN ADDITION: There is a one-off Conservation fee of R150 per person payable directly to the lodge when you arrive. For self-drive visitors, there is also a one-off cash vehicle entrance fee of R120 per vehicle payable at the main Control Gate. All rates subject to change. For guests arriving and departing via FedAir, the landing / departure fees are also excluded (payable directly to the lodge - rates on request).
