Self-Drive By Road

It is about a 3-4 hour drive from Durban, or about 6-7 hours from Johannesburg. If you would like a quote for a hire car, please do let us know and we will be happy to arrange this for you. Alternatively you can book directly with Avis in South Africa.

Transfer By Road

We can arrange a road transfer for you if you didn't want to drive yourself - quotes available on request.

Daily Shuttle Service

You can fly daily from Johannesburg International Airport (or the OR Tambo as it is now known as) or from Durban Airport directly to the Phinda Game Reserve. The service is run by Federal Air, and you are met at the airport by one of their professional Guest Relations team, and transferred to FedAir's private first class lounge where you can relax before boarding your flight to the Park.

From Johannesburg, the flights leave at 10 am, and takes about 75 minutes, and costs R2,600 per person one way. Please note that these rates are EXCLUSIVE of a R305 fuel surcharge plus a R47 Airport Levy to depart from O.R. Tambo per person / child, and are also subject to change.

From Durban, the rates are available on request.

There is, however, a baggage restriction of 20 kg per person, and you have to have a 'soft' bag (for easy storage in the plane), but you can leave any excess baggage safely at FedAir's office at Johannesburg Airport, which you can then pick up when you return.

The return flights back to Johannesburg depart Phinda at 11.30 am, and costs R2,600 per person one way. Please note that this rate is EXCLUSIVE of a R305 fuel surcharge and is also subject to change.
