Phantom Forest
Knysna, The Garden Route
Phantom Forest
Beautiful coastlines, breathtaking mountains and valleys, tall forests, deep blue lakes and lagoons - these are the reasons why the Garden Route is one of the most popular tourist destinations in South Africa.
The Phantom Forest Eco Reserve is situated just outside the busy holiday town of Knysna, within 137 hectares of privately owned nature reserve on the Knysna River. The Reserve is home to over 150 bird species, bush pig, bushbuck, grysbok, the rare blue duiker (one of Africa's smallest antelope), and a variety of smaller game.
Activities in and around the area include bird watching, forest trails, horse-riding, sailing and canoeing, mountain biking, tennis and golf, swimming, scuba diving and whale watching.
Built on stilts to get the best view over the trees, each has an en-suite bathroom, also on stilts and surrounded by glass windows that open.
Dinners are a series of 4 courses served under a canopy of stars surrounded by trees and next to a roaring fire.

"Fantastic trip only home yesterday, SA was beautiful and we were particularly fond of the Phantom Forest Eco Reserve. The staff there were particularly friendly without been over bearing and the accommodation and food was the best I've ever come accross. I told the resort the same!
I would highly recommend yourselves and anybody to go to SA as a perfect honeymoon destination.
Many thanks for your advice and help, and hopefully we'll get the chance to travel with you again."
