Nguni River Lodge

Set high on a ridge, overlooking a lower plain, Nguni River Lodge is located in a private concession of the Addo Elephant National Park.

Morning and evening game drives on their own concession can be combined with drives into the surrounding Addo Elephant National Park, and the whole safari experience offers guests some wonderful elephant viewing opportunities, as well as the chance to see other wildlife such as the rare black rhino, lion, buffalo, kudu and red hartebeest, as well as over 400 bird species.

Other activities that can be arranged are horseback safaris, guided 4x4 excursions though the Zuurberg mountain range to Darlington Lake, bird watching excursions, EcoCruises to the St Croix Island Marine Reserve, and elephant walking safaris.

Guests can also enjoy a trip to the Woody Cape Nature Reserve for whale, dolphin and shark spotting (in season).

The design of Nguni River Lodge incorporates elements of the culture and style of the Xhosa people as well as colours inspired by the Nguni Cattle.

The lodge is comprised of a main building with 8 standard suites and one family suite. All rooms have air-conditioning, fireplaces, en-suite bathrooms with stone baths and their own private plunge pool.

There are panoramic views from all rooms of the spectacular plain below, set against the backdrop of the Zuurberg mountain range.
