Directions

From Hazyview
Follow the R40 towards Klaserie. Just before the concrete over-head rail bridge at Klaserie, turn right towards Hoedspruit - please note that this is stil the R40. 7km before Hoedspruit, turn right towards Eastgate Airport and the Timbavati Game Reserve. At the Klaserie river the tarred road ends, continue on the gravel road to the Timbavati Control Gate. Sign the visitors book and pay R100 road levy per vehicle as R110 conservation fee (per person which is also payable at the gate (subject to change) .

Once inside, follow the signs to Ngala. Turn right at the Ngala sign 2 km after the gate. After approximately 6 km turn left and continue for 7 km. At the Ngala sign, turn right for another 2 km until you reach the lodge. Allow between 30-50 minutes to drive from the gate to the lodge.

Do not get out of your car until you reach the lodge. You may see some wildlife on your way - if you do, slow down and maintain a good distance. Do not drive off-road in any circumstances.

From Eastgate / Hoedspruit Airport
Turn left and proceed along this road until you reach the main control gate. For self-drive visitors, there is a vehicle entrance cash fee of R120 per vehicle (subject to change) payable at the gate.

Once inside the gate, follow the directions as above to the lodge through the reserve.

From Johannesburg / Pretoria
Take the N12 or N4 highway through Witbank / eMalahleni, then left on the R540 to Belfast (from Johannesburg Airport, follow signs to Boksburg to find the N12). Turn right towards Dullstroom and Mashishing (Lydenburg). In Mashishing (Lydenberg) look out for the information boards directing you to the R36 to Ohrigstad. Follow signs to R36 Ohrigstad and Tzannen. Stay on the R36 (signboards indicate Tzannen).

Once through the Strydom Tunnel follow the signs to Hoedspruit. Once in Hoedspruit, drive straight through town, over the railway line bridge. Turn right at the stop street onto the R40 to Klaserie. After approximately 7 km turn left at the Timbavati Eastgate signs.

Continue for 31km. At the Klaserie River the tarred road ends and continue on the gravel road to the Timbavati Control Gate. Follow the directions above once at the gate.

From Kruger National Park / Orpen Gate
Exit the Park, and continue along the R531. Turn right onto the R40, and continue along this road until you see the turning off to the right for Eastgate Airport. Turn right here follow the directions from the airport as above.
