Check-In and Check-Out Times

Rooms may normally be occupied from 2 pm on the day of arrival. If possible, aim to arrive at the lodge around this time, so you can check into your room and relax before your first afternoon game drive, but if you don't think you can arrive by this time, you should aim to arrive by 3 pm at the very latest, or else you may miss the afternoon drive.

Rooms must normally please be vacated by 11 am on the day of departure for the convenience of arriving guests.

Published Rates Include

All meals, a daily safari walk and morning / afternoon game drives are included. PLEASE NOTE: The additional tourism bed levy is NOT included (R10 per person per night, subject to change). IN ADDITION: There is a one-off Conservation fee of R150 per person payable directly to the lodge when you arrive. For self-drive visitors, there is also a one-off cash vehicle entrance fee of R120 per vehicle payable at the main Control Gate. All rates subject to change. For guests arriving and departing via FedAir, the landing / departure fees are also excluded (payable directly to the lodge - rates on request).

Children Policy

Children aged 6 years and older are welcome. Rates available on request. Babysitting services are available.

Other Useful Information

Should guests arrive around midday, a light lunch will be offered.

Activities at Motswari are planned with the guest's comfort and enjoyment in mind. The following daily schedule is designed to allow guests time to relax, enjoy the hospitality and safari activities and of course savour the delicious fare on offer.

5 am: A gentle Bush style wake up call!
5:30 am: Guests are met by their guide on the veranda for early morning refreshments. This includes tea, coffee, rusks, fruit and fruit juice.
6 am: Depart on early morning up to 4 hour game drive
8 am: Coffee break! Your guide will find a scenic spot to enjoy tea, coffee or juice with freshly baked muffins.
10 am: Brunch. An extensive and delicious South African brunch is served including hot and cold platters, cereals and freshly baked breads and preserves.
11 am - 2.30 pm: At leisure. Guests have the option of joining their guide on an exciting bush walk. Alternatively they can relax at the pool, browse the Art Gallery and Curio Shop or take a traditional siesta.
3 pm: Guests meet in the lounge for Late Lunch/High Tea. This table includes an inviting delicious selection of sweet and savoury eats fruit juices, teas and coffee.
4 pm: Depart for afternoon/evening game drive. Once again the guide will stop for a rest break where guests can enjoy a sundowner drink and snacks in another magnificent setting.
7.30 pm:Pre dinner drinks at the Boma Cocktail Bar.
8 pm: Dinner in the Boma is under the sparkling African sky.

This schedule is 30 minutes later from May to September.
