Mohlabetsi Safari Lodge is situated in the vast Big 5 Balule Nature Reserve, which forms part of the Greater Kruger National Park. This is truly Africa at its very best!
At this small, intimate lodge, guests are assured of comfort and unobtrusive attentiveness, combined with an intimacy with nature. The emphasis here is upon close-up encounters with Africa's spectacular wildlife, from the mighty elephant, the impressive lion or the miniscule termite. Evening game drives are conducted in specially modified open Land Rovers, giving guests excellent all-round visibility, as well as the excitement of meeting Africa's Big 5 close up ! The rangers are well versed in ensuring that you have a thrilling and informative safari. Guided bush walks can also be arranged.
The main lodge is nestled under age-old trees with a panoramic view over the bush and onto a well-frequented waterhole. The shady lawns, with chaise lounges, create a wonderful scene of tranquility.
The boma is a reeded enclosure with a crackling log fire, where sumptuous dinners are served. Dinners are also served on the lawn under the stars.
The Tranquility Lapa is situated in a quiet area of the lodge and offers relaxing massages during the day. Indulge yourself with an Aromatherapy Massage, with only the sounds of nature to provide background music.
There are 6 African rondavels - each one is tastefully appointed in an ethnic theme and has a marvellous al fresco shower for a wonderful close-to-nature experience. There are also 2 family lodges, which offer superb comfort for small parties. Each lodge has 2 rooms with an interleading door for privacy. One room has a queensize bed and the other has 2 single beds - it is possible to add a sleeper bed too, thereby accommodating up to 5 guests.

Mohlabetsi - fantastically enthusiastic ranger/trackers, great African cooking, great family atmosphere, fabulous curio shop.

Mohlabetsi Safari Lodge has less facilities than was expected but that is obviously because it is relatively small-sized. The game drive experience here, however, makes up for any shortcomings in terms of accommodation or food.
The drives are more personalised than others that we have experienced and really help one to discover wild nature close-up. The setting of the lodge is also very next to nature as its boundary opens out to the Park without tall fences or walls. The staff are friendly and efficient.
For anyone who wants to encouter wildlife, this lodge presents a fabulous opportunity and we are very happy that we chose Mohlabetsi for our second trip to Kruger.
Thank you Travel Butlers!

Excellent customer service/food/room/game drives at the lodge. Very welcoming and all the staff worked to make it an exceptional experience - which it was.

We really enjoyed our stay at Mohlabetsi. Everything about it was fantastic. We're very picky eaters unfortunately but we still managed to find something to eat. That of course is our problem and not a fault of Mohlabetsi. Everyone was so friendly and helpful and Solly our guide is the most fantastic guide ever. He was superb. He even found us a leopard on our last night. The drive from where we were to where the leopard was will live in my memory forever.
We would certainly consider going back in the future. No that's not true, we wouldn't consider it, we would definitely go back. It may not be for a while but the next time we're here in South Africa, and there will be a next time, we will definitely go back to Mohlabetsi.

The Mohlabetsi Lodge is an intimate lodge...simple but very comfortable with a fantastic team. The owner Tony is a very nice person and the team was always smiling and caring for us. They love that place and the wildlife. We had a wonderful time !
