Mkuze Falls Tented Lodge

The Mkuze Falls Tented Lodge offers an adventurous safari experience. Situated in the heart of historic Zululand in the South African province of KwaZulu-Natal, the Mkuze Falls Private Game Reserve comprises 10,000 hectares, and is one of only 2 Private Game Reserves in the province where you can view the Big 5 - lion, leopard, buffalo, rhino, and elephant - as well as cheetah, hippo, crocodile, spotted hyena, giraffe, wildebeest and zebra, and nearly 400 species of bird.

Numerous species of antelope are also resident in the reserve and the elusive nyala occurs in greater numbers here than anywhere else in the world.

Game drives take place early morning and late afternoon, and are led by experienced game rangers and trained nature guides. Only a limited number of vehicles are allowed to traverse the bush at any one time, so your experience will really be unique.

Each day also offers the opportunity to take a walk in the reserve with a trained field guide who can share his knowledge and enthusiasm for some of the smaller wonders of the bush that can be overlooked from a Land Rover.

The accommodation consists of 5 luxurious 'Hemingway' style safari tents built on wooden decks raised on stilts, situated on the Mkuze River where a wide variety of animals come to drink.

The main lodge facilities include a lounge, bar, and swimming pool.

Starlit evenings are enjoyed in the boma and the sounds of the Zulu drumbeat beckon the pure spirit of Africa.
