MalaMala is South Africa's legendary and exclusive safari destination. Internationally acknowledged as one of the 'top game viewing destinations in the world', it is set in beautiful surroundings on the banks of the Sand River.

The spacious and beautifully decorated guest lounge leads onto an expansive wooden deck which provides an elevated view of animals drinking and bathing in the river. Dinner under the stars in a reed enclosed boma or around a log fire, under the starry African sky, is yet another highlight of the MalaMala experience.

Only guests accommodated at one of the MalaMala camps may traverse this immense tract of privately owned game land.

Daily safaris are conducted in open 4-wheel drive vehicles to track down Africa's Big 5 - lion, leopard, rhino, elephant and buffalo.

After dark, spotlight safaris provide the opportunity to view nocturnal creatures and carnivores on the hunt. Walking safaris can also be arranged on request.

The individually decorated, spacious and comfortable rooms are under traditional thatching. Each one offers views of the surrounding bush and private verandah. 'His' and 'hers' bathrooms, temperature control, bath robes, room service, complimentary bottled water and a mini bar are just a few of the luxuries offered when you stay here.

The luxury and comfort of the camp, combined with the exhilarating game drives and guided walks in beautiful unspoilt wilderness, is incomparable.

All meals and snacks, teas and coffees, game drives in open 4- wheel drive safari vehicles, spotlight game drives at night, game walks, tourism levy, laundry services (only for guests staying 2+ nights) and transfers to and from the airstrip at MalaMala Game Reserve are included. PLEASE NOTE: All other drinks are NOT included. IN ADDITION: For all visitors, there is an entrance fee of R30 per person to enter the Sabi Sand Game Reserve, payable IN CASH at the entrance gate. Self-drive visitors must ALSO pay a R120 per vehicle cash entrance fee (R150 from 1st January 2012). All rates subject to change. For guests arriving and departing via FedAir, the landing / departure fees are also excluded (payable directly to the lodge - rates on request).

Children of any age are welcome. Rates available on request. Children under 5 are not permitted to dine in the boma or to be taken on game drives, unless their parents have reserved sole-use of their Land Rover - rates available on request.
