Lion Sands River Lodge, in the southern portion of the 65,000 hectare Sabi Sand Game Reserve, is situated on a private area of prime game-viewing land which has been owned and managed by the More Family for 4 generations.

The lodge is built on the banks of the Sabie River, facing due East so that it catches the sun as it rises over the Kruger National Park.

The philosophy of the safari experience at Lion Sands is to deliver a consistently professional and informative safari experience, ensuring that all spheres of the African bush, from the small insects to the mighty elephant, are covered in as much detail as the guest may require.

The ranger and tracker teams have been carefully selected to make certain that your safari experience will not only meet but exceed your highest expectations.

Lion Sands River Lodge has 20 luxurious thatched chalets, each with an en-suite bathroom with outdoor and inside showers, and a private wooden viewing deck with a view of the river. The bedroom area is air-conditioned with an over-head fan. All rooms have mini bars and telephone access.

The rooms are linked to all areas by raised wooden walkways.

The main swimming pool is one of the best game viewing spots, with an uninterrupted view of the river and the bush beyond.

2 game drives in open Land Rovers, 3 meals daily, game drive refreshments, tea / coffee and Skukuza airport transfers are included. Subject to weather conditions, the rate also includes bush breakfasts and bush dinners, bush walks, full moon walks, wildlife lectures, safari lunches, hippopotamus river tour and astronomy. IN ADDITION: For all visitors, there is an entrance fee of R30 per person to enter the Sabi Sand Game Reserve, payable IN CASH at the entrance gate. Self-drive visitors must ALSO pay a R120 per vehicle cash entrance fee (R150 from 1st January 2012). All rates subject to change. For guests arriving and departing via FedAir, the landing / departure fees are also excluded (payable directly to the lodge - rates on request).

Children aged 10 years and older are welcome. Rates available on request. Children under 10 can only be accommodated IF the entire lodge is block-booked by the same group or family - rates available on request. Children under 16 years old are not allowed on bush walks.
