Lion Sands Ivory Lodge is situated within the privately owned Lion Sands Private Game Reserve,which forms part of the southern portion of the 65,000 hectare Sabi Sand Game Reserve, an area well known for its spectacular game viewing.

The reserve is built on the banks of the Sabie River, offering breathtaking views over the river where game viewing can be done from the luxury of one's private suite.

Morning and afternoon game drives, in open Land Rovers with an experienced ranger and keen-sighted tracker, takes guests out into the bush to discover the magic of being on safari.

The lodge has exclusive access to the Sabie River, which is also central to why Lion Sands delivers an incomparable safari experience.

Where there is water there is life and sanctuary from the heat of the African sun - a place where the wildlife travel great distances to quench their thirsts, and so much more.

The 6 ultra luxurious suites at Lion Sands Ivory Lodge all have en-suite bathrooms with outdoor and inside showers, a courtyard, lounge with fireplace, wooden viewing deck, patio and private plunge pool.

The bedroom and bathroom area are air-conditioned and overhead fans cool the bedrooms and lounges. All rooms have telephone and internet access. The suites are linked to all areas by raised wooden walkways.

The lodge also has a Health Spa (named 'Lalamuka' - the Shangaan word for 'unwind') which offers a wide range of aromatherapy, reflexology and massages.

Price Guide: From ZAR5020 ( approx U$ 675 ) per person. Special Offers may apply - prices on request.

2 game drives in open Land Rovers, 3 meals daily, game drive refreshments, tea / coffee, laundry service, beverages (excluding premium brands and imports) and Skukuza airport transfers are included. Subject to weather conditions, the rate also includes bush breakfasts and bush dinners, bush walks, full moon walks, wildlife lectures, safari lunches, hippopotamus river tour and astronomy. IN ADDITION: For all visitors, there is an entrance fee of R30 per person to enter the Sabi Sand Game Reserve, payable IN CASH at the entrance gate. Self-drive visitors must ALSO pay a R120 per vehicle cash entrance fee (R150 from 1st January 2012). All rates subject to change. For guests arriving and departing via FedAir, the landing / departure fees are also excluded (payable directly to the lodge - rates on request).

Children aged 10 years and older are welcome. Rates available on request. Children under 10 can only be accommodated IF the entire lodge is block-booked by the same group or family - rates available on request.

"This was a close to perfect safari experience. Both Lion Sands Ivory Lodge and the game drives were perfectly organised and the personnel really did their best to make it work. Also the timing was ideal since the weather was good and the vegetation was still low, so that the animals could be easily seen."
