Kurland Country Hotel

Set on a plateau between the emerald green Outeniqua Mountains and the Indian Ocean, Kurland Country Hotel is a luxury boutique hotel near Plettenberg Bay, just a short distance from the beach and the town centre.

Although established in the old Cape Dutch tradition, the hotel is completely modern in all other respects and is surrounded by immaculate polo fields and adjacent stables which form part of the estate. Guests can relax into the calm mood of Kurland in a comfortable chair on the spacious, shaded veranda, or stretch out on a recliner by the palm fringed, sparkling pool.

Kurland's modern health spa includes a fully equipped gymnasium, sauna, steam bath and plunge pool. Beauty treatments are available on request.

Children of all ages are welcome at Kurland, being well catered for with tennis, boating, horse and cycle-riding, a games room, a jungle gym and their own swimming pool.

Tennis and horse riding and in season polo matches are also part of the daily activities. Guided walks can also be arranged with experienced guides, who will accompany guests and children on eco-walks through the estate focusing on birdlife, plant life and small game.

Furthermore guided beach walks, at the nearby spectacular Natures Valley, can also be arranged, and gourmet picnics are provided by the Kurland kitchen.

The tastefully decorated and spacious rooms are designed to cater for the guests every comfort. Ceiling fans ensure that guests are kept cool in the hot summers and large fireplaces can be used in the winter months.

The rooms are individually styled and display some enviable objects d'art, antique furniture and original oil paintings.
