Khanni Lodge
At the foot of the Warmwaterberg, in the heart of the Little Karoo, between Montagu and Barrydale on the famous Route 62, lies the stunning Sanbona Wildlife Reserve - 54,000 hectares of undulating mountains and plains, indigenous fauna and flora, rock formations and rock art.
The sheer expanse and stark beauty of the reserve gives one a sense of humbleness, the realization of the inconsequentialities of life, and a temporary release of the daily stresses of everyday living. Khanni Lodge provides guests with an enchanting choice of settings in which to relax - from the airy dining room and cosy lounge with its fireplace, to the outdoor dining patio and barbeque facilities.
During the drive, be it in the early morning or for sundowners, various species of plants, animals, big game and birds can be seen.
Sundowner evening drives offer spectacular displays of light as the evening sun sets over the Little Karoo.
Sanbona has also initiated a unique conservation programme that aims to breed the white lion for release into the wild.
From the veranda and rim-flow swimming pool guests can watch animals visiting the watering hole to drink, and the private verandas of the lodge's 4 spacious suites offer exquisite views of the surrounding landscape.
All meals, local beverages, daily game drives and guided walks to San Rock Art are included.
The rate excludes the Wellness centre, laundry, private bar and telephone, shop purchases and gratuities.
