Kapama River Lodge

Kapama River Lodge is situated within Kapama Game Reserve, a 13,000 hectare fenced reserve situated near the Kruger National Park. Characterised by rolling savannah grasslands and riverine forests, the reserve supports no less than 42 mammal species and approximately 350 bird species. Amongst the mammal species is the Big 5 - lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo and rhino.

Guests can enjoy day and night game drives on open safari vehicles in search of Africa's wildlife, in the company of experienced rangers and trackers. Guests are also encouraged to join their ranger on a morning bush walk to explore the environment.

In addition to the safari experience, guests are welcome to participate in numerous other activities, including elephant back safaris, clay pigeon shooting, hot air ballooning, a visit to the Hoedspruit Endangered Species Centre, bushveld sleep outs and bush dinners.

A large rim flow swimming pool with a view towards the Kapama River offer guests the opportunity to relax under the African sun while having the opportunity to view various animals drink water from the river dam.

With panoramic views of the nearby Drakensberg Mountains, the lodge offers exquisitely appointed bedrooms of unparalleled luxury.

Each of the spacious suites all have air-conditioning, and feature a full en-suite bathroom and enjoy uninterrupted views of the game reserve. The Family Suite has a separate area with 2 beds for younger children if families want everyone to be accommodated in one room.

Meals are served buffet style and offer a variety of Pan African dishes.
