Directions

From Johannesburg / Pretoria: Take the N12 / N4 from Johannesburg via Witbank and Middleburg towards Nelspruit. Turn left on the R540 towards Belfast. In centre of town turn right to Dullstroom and then on to Lydenburg / Mashishing. Pass through Lydenburg / Mashishing, taking the R36 to Ohrigstad, through the Strijdom Tunnel to Hoedspruit. In Hoedspruit, once crossing over a bridge over the railway line, the road stops at a 4-way crossing. Turn right onto the R40 towards Klaserie / Bushbuck Ridge. After 7 km on the R40, turn left at the Eastgate Airport turn-off and continue for 15 km. Turn right at the Guernsey turn-off and continue on a gravel road for 10 km. The main Kapama Lodge entrance will be on your left-hand side. Report at the gate and follow the black arrows to Kapama Lodge for approximately 8 km.

Once in the reserve do not get out of your car until you reach the lodge. You may see some wildlife on your way - if you do, slow down and maintain a good distance. Do not drive off-road in any circumstances.

From Eastgate Airport / Hoedspruit: From the Airport, turn left and continue along this road (Argyle Road). After about 15 km, turn right at the Guernsey turn-off and follow the directions as above.

From Hazyview: Follow the R40 towards Klaserie. Approximately 1 km before Klaserie the R40 branches off to the right and is clearly marked. Take the turn-off towards your right. You will still be on the R40. Continue for approximately 1 km before turning right onto the Caskettes Road. Follow this road for approximately 15 km until you get to a T-junction (the Caskettes Road becomes gravel halfway). Turn left at the T-junction and continue for 4.5 km to the Kapama Lodge main gate on your right.
