Kapama Buffalo Camp
Built on the theme of an East-African safari camp of bygone days, Kapama Buffalo Camp offers visitors to the African bush a unique and intimate experience. The camp is ideally suited to those who wish to experience the essence of the bushveld without compromising on comfort.
Set in an indigenous garden, the accommodation facilities, thatched bar, dining-room and campfire area contribute to the intimate ambience of the camp. At night, lanterns, rather than electric lights, glow under the canopy of treetops. The camp's refreshing swimming pool offers respite from the heat of the African summer or the day's adventures may be shared in the cool open-air bar with its spectacular view over the river bed.
The reserve enjoys panoramic views of the nearby Drakensberg mountain range, is only 40 km from the Kruger National Park and is central to most of the scenic areas of Mpumalanga and Limpopo Province. Kapama Buffalo Camp is a truly authentic way to experience the African bush in the Kapama Game Reserve.
Each tent has private bathroom facilities, interconnected to other tents by wooden walkways high above a sandy river bed. Hot water is provided by an ingenious and effective boiler. The tents, open-air bar, dining room and campfire area are set in an indigenous garden. At night, lanterns glow under the canopy of tree tops and contribute to the ambience of the camp.
Three meals per day (special bush dinners can be arranged); teas, coffees, cakes, pastries and afternoon teatime snacks; two game drives daily (including night drive by spotlight) in open safari vehicles, accompanied by experienced rangers and expert Shangaan trackers; complimentary road transfers between your Kapama accommodation and Eastgate Airport are included.
The rate excludes telephone calls; shop purchases; spa treatments; personal bar account, room mini-bar consumables and sundowner drinks; other incidental charges.
