Gwalagwala is a small, intimate safari lodge offering luxury tented camp accommodation in close proximity to the Kruger National Park.

The lodge is built on the banks of the Klaserie River in undisturbed riverine forest.

Guests are invited to enjoy an authentic bush and game lodge experience which can combine all creatures, both big and small. The lodge can help plan the ideal Kruger Park safari or game drive that best fits your particular interests.

At Gwalagwala a day's activities may include an early morning guided walk, or a Big 5 game drive in open safari vehicles on the neighbouring Thornybush Private Game Reserve (one per day and this can be either early morning or afternoon / early evening), or a game drive on Gwalagwala in an open vehicle, or bird watching from one of the hides on the property.

The world acclaimed Kruger National Park is only 30 minutes drive away, where you can enjoy a self-drive safari experience.

Built to host a maximum of 12 people, the safari tents nestle discretely under a canopy of trees in the natural bush to ensure solitude and privacy .

Each tent is built on a wooden platform raised in the trees on sturdy stilts, and each has its own en-suite bathroom and private deck. The tents are all equipped with fans for the warm summer days and heaters and electric blankets for those chilly winter nights.

A short walk through pathways brings you to the main lodge area where you will find the refreshing swimming pool and tree-house pub and breakfast verandah built up in the tree tops. You may wish to sit quietly in the thatched, open lounge which overlooks the river, spotting any animals that may be passing, or just watch birds going about their business whilst you become attuned to the sounds of the bush.
