Set on the banks of the Sand River, Exeter River Private Game Lodge is situated in the world famous Sabi Sand reserve adjoining Kruger National Park. The lodge boasts one of the finest locations in the whole reserve, and elephants, buffalo, and other game are frequently spotted in the river from the lodge itself.

One of the longest established lodges in the area, Exeter can trace its history back to the 1930s, and this heritage is reflected in the large comfortable suites, teak furniture, finest linens and ornaments from the 4 corners of Africa. This truly is a world class lodge in a world class game reserve.

Morning and afternoon game drives on open Land Rovers provide unrivalled game viewing in the company of highly skilled rangers and Shangaan trackers.

A crystal clear swimming pool is a wonderful area to relax between game drives, or there is a small gymnasium.

Evening meals are served either under the stars in the boma or in the magnificent lounge and dining area which overlooks river and the savanna beyond.

The lodge is intimate, with only 8 suites, and this ensures a truly personal service from the outstanding and friendly staff.

The suites are amongst the most luxurious in the Sabi Sand reserve, and each boasts a private sun-deck overlook the game-rich area surrounding the lodge.

All the rooms have large luxury bathrooms, a lounge area, and private pool and outdoor shower.

Price Guide: From ZAR4680 ( approx U$ 629 ) per person. Special Offers may apply - prices on request.

All meals, tea / coffee, 2 scheduled game drives daily, interactive bush walks, house wines, local brand spirits and beers, soft drinks and bottled water and a laundry service are included. IN ADDITION: For all visitors, there is an entrance fee of R30 per person to enter the Sabi Sand Game Reserve, payable IN CASH at the entrance gate. Self-drive visitors must ALSO pay a R120 per vehicle cash entrance fee (R150 from 1st January 2012). All rates subject to change. For guests arriving and departing via FedAir, the landing / departure fees are also excluded (payable directly to the lodge - rates on request).

Children of any age are welcome. Rates available on request. Children under 6 are not allowed on game drives, but shortened game drives (FOC) may be arranged with the lodge subject to availability of Land Rovers and rangers. Children aged 6 to 11 are allowed on game drives at the Lodge Manager's discretion. Children under 12 are not allowed on bush walks. Babysitting services are available.

"We're back in the UK now after the most incedible holiday. I just want to say thank you for putting the trip together for us it was superb.

The game lodge at Exeter River and the staff there were amazing, we saw so much wildlife, fantastic.

The Windermere at Port Elizabeth although there only one night was very good,again the staff were so helpful.

Tsala Treetop is almost beyond words, what an amazing place.

Ocean Eleven at Hermanus was all the web site said and more - we had whales playing in the bay right outside our window.

And last but not least the Alta Bay in Cape Town, you could not find a more friendly place if you tried, our stay there was the most enjoyable we have had anywhere in the world.

So it's 10 out of 10 to you and a very big thank you."
