Clifftop Lodge

Situated in the 34,000 hectare malaria-free Welgevonden Private Game Reserve, the 5* Clifftop Lodge is a special place where service is understood and luxury is elegantly understated.

Lodge activities include game viewing in open 4x4 vehicles as well as bushwalks along the river valley with trained field guides. The reserve today that is home to the lion, leopard, elephant, white rhino, cheetah, wild dog, brown hyena, 15 different types of antelope, and 30 other species of mammal. The Welgevonden bird checklist currently exceeds 280 birds and is increasing steadily.

With dramatic views of the Sterkstroom River Valley, the main lodge offers the perfect setting for sundowners on the deck next to the infinity pool.

The cuisine at Clifftop is a superb fusion of African and Western flavours, and offers guests a menu to surpass the expectations of the most discerning diner.

Clifftop Lodge also boasts an extensive wine cellar, stocked with premium wines allowing guests to enjoy a cheese and wine or intimate dinner.

Eight luxury suites, all overlooking the flowing Sterkstroom River, each enjoy their own private deck and plunge pool perched on the cliff, allowing guests the opportunity to view game from the privacy of their suites.

Each of the suites is en-suite, with both indoor and outdoor showers. All the suites are air-conditioned.
