Directions

From Hazyview: Take the R40 from Hazyview towards Bushbuckridge. Continue on this road for approximately 62 km from Hazyview, then turn right towards Acornhoek (Manyeleti / Thulamahashe turn-off). Follow the tar road for approximately 33 km until you see Hluvukane Petrol Station on your right-hand side. The tar road ends here and becomes gravel. After the petrol station, continue for 2 km till the road splits - turn right (you will see a brown Sabi Sand sign and other lodges names like Elephant Plains, Chitwa Chitwa, Djuma etc). Take the 1st turn on your left. After +/- 5 km turn right (follow all Sabi Sand signs). Follow through a few small towns until you get to a T- junction after another 6.5 km, and turn left here.

You will reach the Gowrie Gate after 7 km. There is a cash entry fee per vehicle at the gate. Once inside the gate, follow the signs to the lodge through the reserve. Do not get out of your car until you reach the lodge. You may see some wildlife on your way - if you do, slow down and maintain a good distance. Do not drive off-road in any circumstances.

From Eastgate Airport / Hoedspruit: Take the R40 towards Bushbuckridge, and follow the directions as above.

From the Nelspruit / Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport: Follow the airport signs toward the exit. At the T-junction / stop street, turn right onto the R538 and follow the signs to White River. Continue for approximately 10 km, until you reach White River. Continue straight out of White River on the R40 towards Hazyview. After approximately 45 km, you will go down a steep hill towards a T-junction. Turn left at the T-junction towards Hazyview, and follow the directions as above.

From Johannesburg / Pretoria: Take the N12 or N4 highway to Witbank and then follow N4 highway past Middleburg (Toll Plaza), Belfast, Machadodorp (Toll Plaza), Waterval Boven and continue towards Nelspruit. On entering Nelspruit, turn left onto the R40 to White River (Witrivier). When you reach White River, follow the R40 / Hazyview signs and the directions as above.

From Johannesburg / Pretoria via Scenic Route: Take the N12 or N4 highway to Witbank and then follow N4 highway to the Belfast turn-off. Take the off-ramp and head into Belfast, following signs to Dullstroom. Go through Dullstroom and carry on to the T-junction, and turn left to Lydenburg / Mashishing. In Lydenburg / Mashishing, follow the signs to Sabie over the Long Tom Pass (the highest tar road in South Africa). In Sabie, take the R536 to Hazyview. Just before Hazyview you will reach a T-junction. Turn left here towards Bushbuckridge and follow the directions as above.
