Camp Figtree Lodge

Camp Figtree Lodge is a remote, private lodge set on top of the stunning Zuurberg Mountain range, resting between the Buffelskuil Reserve and the River Bend Conservancy and is adjacent to the malaria-free Addo Elephant National Park.

The Lodge has been designed around its original 1920s traditional colonial building style and historically, this includes the distinctive use of corrugated iron roofing and wide, sweeping verandas which provide areas for relaxed sociability.

The lounge and dining room are intoxicatingly evocative of the romantic colonial era.

The nearby River Bend Conservancy offers safaris conducted by game rangers and trackers. From an open Land Rover you are likely to see wildlife such as Kudu, Bushbuck, Leopard, Caracal, Bush Pig and Jackal.

A trip into the neighbouring Addo National Park, a mere 10 minutes away, affords guests outstanding opportunities for viewing Elephant.

In addition to the game drives, you can savour a picnic or enjoy an historical tour of the famous Sundays River Valley.

Camp Fig Tree Lodge has 4 luxury suites that offer guests the unique opportunity to experience the gracious style of old world elegance and privacy. Each bedroom, with bathroom en-suite, is individually decorated with its own veranda and private views.

There is a central lounge and reading area as well as a dining area and swimming pool and viewing deck.

Evenings are spent in traditional African style around a unique boma with the sounds of the crackling fire and night noises drifting up from the lush valley below.
